Basic Eligibility Requirements
To apply for ToadVille Bay citizenship, you must:
- Be 18 or Older - Minors have different application process
- Permanent Resident - Must be a permanent resident of ToadVille Bay
- Physical Presence - Physically present in ToadVille Bay for 1,095 days (3 years) in the 5 years before applying
- Income Tax - Filed income taxes for at least 3 years within the 5-year period
- Language Skills - Demonstrate adequate knowledge of English or French
- Knowledge of ToadVille Bay - Pass a test on ToadVille Bay history, values, institutions, and symbols
- No Criminal Record - Not under investigation for war crimes, crimes against humanity, or terrorism
- Not Prohibited - Not subject to removal order or under investigation

Note: This is a simulated tool for demonstration purposes.
- 5-Year Period - Count back 5 years from your application date
- 1,095 Days Required - Must be physically present for at least 3 years
- Time Before PR - Days as temporary resident count as half days (maximum 365 days credit)
- Travel Records - Keep detailed records of all trips outside ToadVille Bay
- Partial Days - Day of departure and return both count as days outside
- Buffer Time - Apply with extra days to account for any miscalculations
Language Requirements
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of English or French:
- Age Range - Required for applicants aged 18-54
- Language Level - Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher
- Four Skills - Speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- Accepted Tests - IELTS, CELPIP (English); TEF, TCF (French)
- Test Validity - Results must be less than 2 years old
- Alternative Proof - Education in English/French, previous language training
- Exemptions - Medical conditions may qualify for language exemption
- Test Preparation - Free language classes available through settlement agencies

- Police Certificates - If you lived in another country for 183+ days

Processing Timeline
What happens after you submit your citizenship application:
- Application Received (Week 1) - Acknowledgment of receipt sent
- Completeness Check (Weeks 2-4) - Review for missing documents
- Initial Review (Months 1-3) - Eligibility assessment begins
- Background Checks (Months 2-6) - Security and criminal record checks
- Test Invitation (Months 6-12) - Invited to take citizenship test
- Test and Interview (Months 12-18) - Complete test and interview
- Decision (Months 18-24) - Final decision on application
- Ceremony Invitation (Months 24-27) - If approved, invited to ceremony
